What Does Pieria Taste Like? | Gastronomic Festival of the Mountain & the Forest

What does Pieria taste like?

Maybe it tastes like mushrooms, chestnuts, local cheese, honey and smoked pork.

Maybe like Greek coffee with flower honey, or strawberry juice with lemon and mint.

But after spending a morning in the forest of Elatochori, I think the answer is a little different:

You don’t just taste a place. You experience it.

In this Experience Pieria story, I visit the Gastronomic Festival of the Mountain & the Forest in Elatochori, Pieria, Greece.

The morning begins with Pilates and breathing among the trees, followed by the Pierian Breakfast, local products, traditional recipes, live cooking, handmade pastry, mushrooms, chestnuts, local cheeses, sweets and the people who make the experience what it is.

You’ll also meet chefs, local food producers, visitors, fellow content creators — and, of course, one very friendly dog who decided to become part of the story.

This isn’t an official festival report.

It’s a personal look at a morning when food, nature, people and the landscape of Pieria came together.
